Ben Sachs created MindMatters while in high school and now studies psychology at UC Davis. His interest in psychology was inspired by his mother, a clinical psychologist. Known for his empathy, he has always been drawn to understanding and helping others.

In high school he founded and led the Piedmont Peers Alliance, a school organization focused on mental health advocacy, aiming to demystify mental health and therapy and improve accessibility for teens. He created extensive content and curriculum in this area.

A strong public speaker, Ben has been featured as a speaker in school assemblies around the Bay Area and in local newspapers on topics like mental health, consent, and other social issues. He has volunteered as a peer counselor and in community service, building homes and supporting local blood drives.

Outside of his academic pursuits, Ben enjoys acoustic guitar, singing a cappella, and playing soccer and volleyball.
